I like Debra Messing, a lot. I have been a fan of her work since “Will and Grace.” I skipped her other endeavors until “The Mysteries of Laura,” her new show, arrived on HULU. I don’t have a TV, and I just subscribed to Netflixx, we’ll see where that goes.
“The Mysteries of Laura,” is a show very much focused on entertaining you. The intriocacies that would require deep thought to decipher the plots is not there, still somehow it does give us a hint of the tough life a single professional mom who is trying to just find a moment for herself, and fight crime leads.
The charm of the show is the matter of fact characters who are experts and highly capable at their job with Laura being the heart of the show. Laura’s toughness and her disarming motherly nature combine to create a compelling character. As always here characters always have a strong feminism bent, which in my book, is a good thing. I am looking forward to the second season.
Check out “The Mysteries of Laura” on HULU or NBC, you can figure out the day and time.
